The photo workshop The Theatre of Real Life by Wolfgang Zurborn was part of
the framework programme of the exhibition The DWIH New Delhi – Excellence on
Tour 2014 in Kolkata, which has the target to intensify the international cooperation between India and Germany.

Wolfgang Zurborn worked together with 9 young indian photographers, recommended by Manik Kaytal, Suvendu Chatterjee and Rishi Singhal. The target of the workshop was to develop their personal photographic visual language. They used the medium photography to react immediately on situations in urban life, to find the intense moments, the surprising constellations of people, objects, signs and architectural spaces in the streets.

The results are showing a deep interest for the conditions of everyday life in the Indian society. In many different ways the participants are expressing their passions, reflections, emotions, questions by looking at their country between tradition and modernity.
